E-Tracking System

The GNSW system includes a satellite cargo tracking solution deployed nationwide to monitor all suspense regime cargoes from their origins to their destinations within or at the borders of the country. This e-tracking system aims to prevent these cargoes from entering the Gambian market without paying the required duties and taxes.

The Cargo Tracking System is a technology-driven solution designed to monitor and manage the movement of cargo throughout the supply chain. It provides real-time visibility into the status, location, and securing of goods as they travel from their origin to their final destination.

This system is intended to help Customs improve monitoring, reduce the need for human escorts (along with their associated risks and challenges), and enhance revenue collection by ensuring that cargo declared as transit is monitored to border exit points, and that warehousing cargo is monitored to warehouses. Additionally, petroleum products moving from Gambia petroleum depots to other countries are monitored to exit border points.

Implementing a robust cargo tracking system is crucial for modern supply chain management. It helps customs streamline operations, enhance security, provide superior customer service, facilitate trade, and ultimately improve customs revenue collection, which can lead to economic growth in the Gambia.
