The company officially commenced operations in August 2019.

The main partners include the Ministry of Finance, Gambia Port Authority, and Gambia Revenue Authority.

The container scanning system is a state-of-the-art, non-intrusive system designed to scan all containers at the Port of Banjul with minimal radiation, ensuring proper declaration and payment of duties and taxes.

The system was implemented to improve government revenue, facilitate trade, and enhance national security by ensuring accurate declarations and payments on consignments.

The container scanning project began after NICK TC SCAN (GAMBIA) LTD. was awarded the contract by the Government of Gambia through GRA, following a competitive bidding process.

The GNSW is a comprehensive Customs Clearance system that integrates all stakeholders on a single platform, including Ports Clearance, Weighbridge, E-tracking, and OCR Container Tallying systems.

The GNSW project was fully launched on August 1, 2023.

The GNSW system improves government revenue collection, facilitates trade, enhances the efficiency of customs clearance, and integrates multiple stakeholders on a single platform.

The implementation was facilitated by Customs Uni-Pass International Agency (CUPIA) through Ghana Link Network Services Limited, NICK TC SCAN’s parent company, which successfully implemented a similar system in Ghana.

The successful implementation of the non-intrusive container scanning system and the launch of the GNSW project are significant achievements.

The company is focused on optimizing the GNSW system to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness for The Gambia.

By implementing advanced scanning and customs systems, the company helps to secure the nation's borders against illegal goods and enhance overall national security.

NICK TC SCAN is a subsidiary of Ghana Link Network Services Limited, which has extensive experience in implementing single window systems, such as the one in Ghana.

The company works closely with the Ministry of Finance, Gambia Port Authority, and Gambia Revenue Authority to implement and optimize customs and scanning systems, thereby enhancing government revenue collection.

The GRA is a key partner, overseeing the implementation of systems that ensure accurate duty and tax collection on consignments passing through the Port of Banjul.

The system streamlines the clearance process by providing accurate scans that facilitate the prompt and correct assessment of duties and taxes.
