Dr. Nick Danso Adjei, Executive Chairman of Trade Facilitation Company Ghana Link Network Services Ltd, has been named the Best Maritime and Trade CEO of the Year at the prestigious 8th Ghana CEO Summit. This award celebrates his pivotal role in enhancing trade facilitation through the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), significantly improving the efficiency of goods clearance at Ghana’s ports and borders.
This recognition follows closely on the heels of Dr. Danso Adjei being honored as Ghana’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” at the Ghana-West Africa Business Excellence Awards just two weeks ago. The recent “Entrepreneur of the Year” award marks the sixth time Dr. Danso Adjei has received this esteemed accolade, solidifying his status as one of Ghana’s foremost entrepreneurs.
Under Dr. Danso Adjei’s leadership, ICUMS has revolutionized the trade sector by simplifying complex workflow processes and significantly increasing government revenue. The system now effectively connects over 8,000 trade facilitation players daily, streamlining operations at critical points of entry, including seaports, airports, and land borders.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Ghana CEO Summit, Dr. Danso Adjei highlighted how ICUMS has integrated advanced artificial intelligence technologies to enhance system efficiency and security. “The introduction of AI has sealed potential loopholes, ensuring a robust platform that supports fast-tracked, smooth clearance of goods,” he stated.
In his address, Dr. Danso Adjei also offered advice to the Ghanaian youth, emphasizing the importance of hard work, focus, and perseverance. He encouraged young people to stay committed to their goals, assuring them that with determination and divine guidance, they can achieve their aspirations.

This year’s Ghana CEO Summit, themed “Reigniting Business and Economic Growth: Charting a Path Forward; Economic Diversification and Artificial Intelligence Transformation,” provided a platform for discussing these transformative topics.
